Festival city, shoppers paradise, academic centre of excellent, dynamic hub for business - Leeds has it all! To top it off industrial heritage, waterside regeneration and exciting new office districts popping up everywhere.
Leeds is a great size to explore on foot so, I popped on my running trainers and set off to check out the flex options in Leeds! Starting in the city centre, I was blown away by the sheer number of flexible workspaces. Over 40 options! It’s clear that businesses are embracing the flexibility and community that these spaces offer.
City Centre: The city centre is a flex workspace paradise! Home to so many national brands and local businesses, all nurtured by a variety of flexible workspace providers within a stone’s throw of each other; Orega’s two sites, UBC, Spaces and Spacemade. Gilbanks. Clockwise and FOR A are delivering exceptional, premium offers in the city centre close to, or in in Fora’s case in the station! Any area guide on Leeds is incomplete without talking about the incredible growth of Wizu, which is on the move again opening its 7th site recently in One Embankment cementing its presence in this city.
New Urban Quarters: Wellington Place’s development is a thriving new office district with flex provision from Regus and Cubo. South Banks regeneration will be home to x+why, which will bring workspaces with a focus on hospitality and events. It’s a great fit for this climate innovation district, aligning perfectly with x+why’s B-corp ethics.
Creative and Tech Hubs: Leeds is a city that embraces creativity. The media hub on Kirstall Road, with Prime Studios, ITV studios, and Braken Workspace Tannery, is a testament to that. Leeds Dock, a waterfront development, is a curated hub for innovators with Department providing offices, coworking and collaborative space for the creative tech sector. Speaking of tech closer to the centre is a hub for tech. The Digital Tech Cluster, spearheaded by Burntwood’s Platform, is a hotbed for tech startups and SMEs.
Seeking out greenspaces can be hard in a city but visiting Burntwood’s West Village on my run was a haven of tranquillity, focusing on wellness this workspace boasts a biophilic-led courtyard. It’s stunning ad the perfect place to take a break from your desk.
A City on the Move: Leeds is a city on the move, with existing operators expanding and new providers entering the market. With regeneration and new developments brining opportunities it’s an exciting place to be for the business community.
